Hello everyone 🙂
Today I’d like to talk about some of my favourite products of the moment. It was in the middle of summer when I’ve heard about the L’Occitane Divine range for the first time and it was at that very moment that I wanted to try it. BUT (yes, the capitals are needed) two things kept me from buying the products: Firstly they are crazily expensive. In Switzerland the oil retails for 119.-, the serum for 129.-, the facecream for 120.- and the eyecream (that I haven’t tried yet) for 76.-. The second thing that held me off was the fact that my skin wasn’t that dry back in summer and so I was very happy with the products I was using then. But once the weather was changing, once that it got cold and harsh outside, I felt that I needed more, because I don’t like the uncomfortable feeling of dry, tight skin AT ALL (but who does?). So (drumroll) I went out and bought the oil, the serum and the facecream. I’ve been using them for the last 2 weeks and overall I’m really really impressed. I apply the serum in the morning, the oil at night and the cream in both cases as a second step. The smell is very strong, you’ll either like it or hate it but once the products are on your skin it disappears rather quickly. Let’s go on to what they are supposed do to and what you can actually feel them doing once applied onto your skin. So on the L’Occitane website you can read that “The new, advanced formulas combine the unique anti-aging properties of everlasting Immortelle flowers with the boosted effectiveness of 7 plant-derived active ingredients. The powerful combination helps to fight signs of aging better than ever before, giving skin the youthful, radiant glow you’ve always wanted.“ So far so good. But how do they actually perform? What I’ve noticed is that as soon as I apply the oil, my skin, as irritated and dry it might have been before, calms down. In the morning when I wake up it isn’t greasy at all but just very nicely moisturized and, as promised, glowy. The facecream leaves my skin soft and hydrated as well. The only thing I’m not so sure about yet is the serum. I know how important serums are, because they sink deeper into your skin than creams do, but in this case I feel like by using the oil at night my skin is still enough moisturized in the morning so that I don’t need the serum necessarily. So if I had to recommend which products to get, than I’d definitely say go with the oil and the cream and you’re good to go.
To be completely sure how effective these products are I should give you an update once I’ll reach my 60’s (..a little preview here!). But even then it would be hard to tell if the condition of my skin is due to skincare products or genes, diet or other factors. But for now, and that’s what this article is about, I’m completely in love with these three products. Every night when I come home, I’m looking forward to washing my face and putting them on, because I can feel that I’m doing something good for my skin whilst getting my own little personal spa experience.
Thank you for reading and, if you got curious, happy shopping 🙂
